Semi-professional dance

Professional development program for high level dancers (ages 18 and over)

Professional development classes are specifically designed for semi-professional dancers ages 18 and over. This program offers quality, high caliber training in a positive learning environment and prepares dancers to bridge the gap between the competitive and professional worlds.
Access to this level requires an audition, which is held every year in August or September.

Most classes of this level focus on technique and performance. Several performance opportunities may arise during the season for dancers of this level. In addition to technical classes, Professional Development dancers may audition for a spot on the CounterCulture Creative Movement company, led by Anmarie-Paule Legault (see details below).

About CounterCulture Creative Movement

Instagram : @counterculture.mtl

CounterCulture is a new creative movement under the artistic direction of Anmarie-Paule Legault, in collaboration with Studio de danse Imperium.

CounterCulture offers a great opportunity for dancers to bridge the gap between the competitive and professional worlds, in a creative setting where they can flourish as artists and acquire tools which will prove useful in the future. The company also puts the focus on the production of virtual content (photos, videos, etc.).

CounterCulture operates with the mentality that process and outcome are of equal importance. The creation process is viewed as an opportunity to share, learn and have open conversations about various topics, with the purpose of helping members understand the mechanics of a project as it stems from the choreography which flows into the message being carried, and is delivered by the creative content.
