
Competitive dance
Competitive program for experienced dancers (ages 6 to adult)
Dancers registering for this program are expected to show commitment towards their team and the Studio. Team spirit, respect towards team members and teachers, as well as an open-mind towards ideas and challenges brought forward are required attitudes for dancers of this level. This program is offered for dancers ages 6 to adult.
Access to this level requires an audition, which is held every year in August or September. Pre-competitive and Competitive teams are put together according to each auditioning dancer’s technical and interpretation skills.

ages 6 to adult
Pre-competitive dance
Dancers of this level will usually dance around 1.5 to 3 hours per week. The objective in this level is to allow dancers to push their training while surrounded by dancers with similar mentality and skills. Throughout the season, many technical skills will be learned and reviewed, as well as an advanced choreography. Teams of this level will compete in a provincial competition and perform in the Studio’s year end show. Other performance opportunities may also arise during the season for dancers of this level.
ages 8 to adult
Competitive dance
Dancers of this level will usually dance between 4 and 12 hours per week (a versatile dancer wishing to compete in different style will have more dance options and training hours). The objective of this level is to allow dancers to push their training while surrounded by dancers with similar mentality and skills. Throughout the season, many technical skills will be learned and reviewed, as well as an advanced choreography. Teams of this level will compete in several provincial competitions (between 3 and 5), and perform in the Studio’s mid year show and year end shows. Other performance opportunities may also arise during the season for dancers of this level.
Dancers of this level may request the direction’s authorization to perform a solo, duo or trio in competition. Rehearsal for such performances are supplemental to the regular training (an additional 12 to 20 training hours during the season).
